Origin
Wise Network began as a small advisory desk near Meieki, formed by practitioners who had sat on both sides of the budget table — preparing packs and later reviewing them for group finance. The recurring problem was rarely a missing policy; it was uneven application across departments, languages, and fiscal calendars.
What we do
We specialise in application audit of budgeting workflow applications: examining how budget circulars, templates, and approval paths are used in practice. Our work sits beside internal audit and statutory audit without replacing either. Clients come to us when they need a candid map of living practice before the next close.
Working approach
We read before we interview. Sample packs from two cycles usually reveal more than a polished kickoff presentation. Findings are ranked by fiscal risk and by how soon they can be fixed — a vague culture comment without evidence does not appear in our reports.
People
Engagements are led by senior reviewers with experience in Japanese corporate planning calendars, including April and January fiscal starts. Interview notes stay with the engagement team; we do not recycle client materials into marketing case studies without written consent.
Values in practice
- Evidence over slogans
- Respect for holders who inherit weak templates
- Clear Japanese and English reporting when packs span both
- No pressure tactics around timelines or “limited slots”
